Welcome to SAFER, the Statewide Access to Firearms Education and Resources project, a service of Gun Owners of Maine. This is the SAFER Introduction to Basic Handgun Safety & Concealed Carry course.
In this course, you will learn the principles of handgun safety, the fundamentals of handguns, the practical issues surrounding concealed carry of a handgun, and the legal issues related to firearms, concealed carry, and personal defense. We'll also discuss how to move beyond this basic introductory course and obtain hands-on training from qualified instructors, and extend your skills into intermediate and advanced topics.
